"My 2020 Review And New Year 2021 Message." In the late hours of December 31st, 2019, we all gathered at our various churches, houses, bars, clubhouses, hotels, and other places with high hope, wishes, aspirations for the new now past year 2020, but alas, 2020 came with a shocker that did not only shock our country but the whole world. Before I continue, let me use this medium to wish you a happy new year 2021, my prayer to you is that God Almighty will grant you all your heart desires in the new year. 2020 started on a high note for a lot of people, as it is one of the most anticipated years in the world laced with all kind of economic expectations, many countries like Ours "Nigeria" has mapped out an economic plan tagged/named "Vision 2020" in the year 1999 that is supposed to start manifesting in the year 2020, and the coronavirus also knows as Covid-19 pandemic decided that this is the year it will hit the whole world. This year also have me fighting for my life at the A & E section of one of the biggest hospital in my state, not once but twice and popping a lot of tablets and liquid medications morning, afternoon and night for months. Like other serious-minded people will do, I wrote out a lot of things I plan to achieve this year, was I able to achieve all I set out to ?? No. But I learned a lot of lessons, made a lot of moves, in the end, I win some, I lose some, all these I will share with you in the following paragraphs: Lessons: 1. Always check your health, go for medical checkups from time to time, if you can, get the handful machines that are used to check BP, sugar level and temperature, exercise regularly, eat fruits, and if you are on drugs, endeavor to use your drugs as prescribed, as this will help you to stay alive. 2. If you are a reckless spender, this is the best time to inculcate a saving habit, do not only save for the rainy days but also save to buy that car, house, shoes, bags, to travel to that country you like, save to execute all those beautiful plans in your head. Save for saving sake. 3. Always have a plan, in all your doings and endeavors in the new year, don't attempt anything without a plan and probably a backup plan. Making plans will not only help you to achieve your aims and objectives fast but will make the execution easy and smooth. 4. Document all your moments here either in visual, audio, or audiovisual form. Those happy moments with your loved ones, document it, the sad and dull moments too, document it, because one day, you or one of your loved ones will no longer be here, and your documentaries of you with them will be the only means you will use to reminisce about them and vice versa. 3. You like that lady ?? ask her out today, you love that shoe, clothe, bag ?? Buy it, you always fantasize about that beautiful country, why not visit the country this year, because life is too short, always seize the opportunity you have now and do that thing that makes you happy, because one day, you will no more be here with the livings. 4. The world is going digital, as fintech is taking over the financial and economic space of the world, try to invest in one of the fintech platforms like cryptocurrency, forex trading, piggy vest, kuda, apple, Tesla, and other fintech of your choice upon well-detailed research as these platforms will be the one ruling the financial space in the years to come. 5. Stop procrastinating, that business you want to start, start it now no matter how little, that article or story you planned to write tomorrow, write it today. Make sure you do all you plan to do as soon as possible, life is too short to be procrastinating because nobody knows what tomorrow holds. 6. Inculcate the act of giving to others no matter how small. One of the things the year 2020 taught us is that we all need each other to survive. That woman living down your street, give her things you know she will need and you are no longer using, that your mentor or boss that you think He/She is rich, buy Him/Her a gift today. 7. Lastly, always tell your friends, family and loved ones how much you loved them and how much they mean to you. Spread love. Moves: I have always wanted to have my travels and tours company, I started working towards its actualization, I volunteered and took up the role of Deputy media head at this year edition of the "International youth leadership summit (IYLS) organized by the Justice Chambers of the Obafemi Awolowo University faculty of law under the leadership of Lord Advocate Abass OYEYEMI and other similar projects. I started making a lot of friends on social media, Twitter to be precise, and offline too. I reached out to my mentor, and I went to Lagos in search of a job and end up discovering a lot. Wins: A very big win for me in 2020 is surviving a life-threatening sickness twice in 2020 with the help of God, my parent and loved ones. I started/launched my new brand "The Tripperz", a travels and tours company which it services include: group tour, excursion planning and execution, honeymoon package, Holiday package, hotel booking, and taxi and bus hire. I made a lot of great friends, I started writing my newsletter and wrote a couple of articles published and yet to be published in Yorùba and English language. Loss: In life, you win some, you lose some. My biggest loss in the year 2020 is losing someone I loved dearly, one of my cheerleaders, my adviser, a mother figure, Mrs Felicia Adebimpe ALABI (Nee Awoyinka) whom I lost to the cold hand of death on Saturday 5th of December, 2020. I pray that her soul and souls of all faithful departed continue to rest in peace. I also end up spending the whole year at home as a result of the 9-month ASUU strike, which if not for, I should be a graduate by now.
